Hmm..and yet again has the world proven to be even more scr-wed up than I thought it would be.
A compliment, which I guess I took as a compliment, and an honest one, that was spontaneous and fitting in the situation. A compliment about my personality. Apparently this person thinks that I'm funny. Anywho, enough about that.
His exact words were (as you have already read: "I didn't know that girls could be...funny". And as a feminist (though not a radical one, since I tend to agree that most girls are sh-t for some reason compared to men..well it depends on what time in the month it is), I immediately had my chin fall down and my eye balls poking out of their holes a bit. He realised it wasn't very nicely put in a political way (if you get what I mean, probably not, since all I do is RAMBLE according to certain people) and tried to change his words: "Um..I mean, I didn't know that girls could have a sense of humour", which of course was just as bad.
But I was in the middle of feeling happy that someone actually apprecaited what I had to say, and that it simply was a rude thing to say about women.
And then I started to think about it even more, and I realised, that's the way it is down-under. It is so different from back home. Mostly, guys and girls, both being single, don't really talk to each other if they are not interested in each other in THAT manner. It's weird and kinnda frowned upon if you keep talking to a person of the opposite sex if you don't kiss now and then. That's pretty exaggerated, but still, it's like that. At least a bit more than it is in Sweden and the rest of Europe.
Girls are seen more as pretty trophies here, who simply dress up and smile for their own enjoyment and for that of the men around them. It's sickening..
